Welcome to my Senior Project Blog.

I’m Manpreet Sokhi, a senior at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley.

Over the course of the next few months, I will be using this space as an outlet to track the progress of my senior project.

Through my project I want to learn new and efficient techniques of object-based programming for shared data structure to create an intelligent sorting program which will be able to gather information from a series of messages over email or messages and schedule meetings.

After reading about and researching a variety of established learning management platforms such as Blackboard and Moodle, I have narrowed my main focus to sorting algorithms. My goal is to make a platform with a user friendly interface that has the ability intelligently plan for upcoming events.

However, before I jump into the programming aspect of the project, I need to get a foundation of the psychological aspect of eLearning and digital platforms and programs in general which is well demonstrated in the work of Professor Bruce McLaren from CMU, who specializes in eLearning. After this I plan to shift gears into programming and learn different techniques on the fly.

My next steps include mapping out and understanding the functionality of how a sorting algorithms work in a more programming way and reading Professor McLaren’s work to get an understanding for the most effective online data sharing methods. By the end of the academic year I hope to have a running program as well as a presentation of the different skills and problems I have learned and encountered.

Thanks for reading!
